What changed
- Deep North introduces Kall Fimbulbringer, new creatures, snow and ice mechanics, dungeons, materials, and food.
- Crafting additions include Frost Foundry, Frigid Kiln, Standing Loom, Smith's Aprons, and Smoker.
- Nord, Frostfire, and Thunderblood weapons join Protector, Vanguard, Caller, and Lox Fur armor.
- New systems include a Grappling Hook, inventory upgrades from Haldor, item upgrades at a hidden forge, cinematics, alternate earlier biomes, and achievements.
- Existing content receives Ashlands spawn adjustments, increased Mistlands and Ashlands gear durability, expanded mist removal, and revised building menus.

Platform scope
The FAQ lists Steam on Windows, Linux and Mac; Mac App Store; Humble on Windows, Linux and Mac; Microsoft Store on Windows; Xbox One and Series X|S; PlayStation 5; and Nintendo Switch 2. Crossplay is supported across platforms.
Dedicated servers and achievements
The notes describe a world-save system that divides data into chunks, world-generation and networking improvements, and IPv6 fixes. Preserve a complete backup before updating a server and test loading, saving, joining, and permission lists.
Achievements begin tracking with the installed release. Read the achievement guide alongside the later Steam hotfix, which changes the original cheat-lock policy.
